The new leader said he is “deeply honored” to join the organization.

Local nonprofit Navian Hawaii, formerly Hospice Hawaii, announced this week that it has appointed Dan Haire as its new president and CEO. He assumed the role on April 15.

In a release announcing the appointment, the nonprofit said that “Haire brings over a decade of leadership experience in hospice care to the position.” According to the release, his past roles have included serving as vice president of hospice operations at Alternate Solutions Health Network, regional director of hospice operations at Intrepid USA, and CEO of SCA Health. Most recently, he served as vice president of operations for Islands Hospice.

In a statement, Haire said he is “deeply honored” to join Navian Hawaii.

“I look forward to building upon its foundation of excellence in hospice and integrated care as we continue to provide exceptional care and support to our patients and their families,” he stated.

In the role, Haire oversees operations, in addition to providing strategic leadership and direction for the organization.

Navian Hawaii was first established in 1979, originally called Hospice Hawaii. As noted on its website, in addition to hospice care, the nonprofit also offers integrated care to those with serious but treatable conditions.

Navian Board Chair Jennifer Walker said that “Dan possesses a unique blend of clinical expertise and strategic vision that will drive Navian Hawaii’s mission forward.”

“His proven track record of leadership and his dedication to quality care make him the ideal fit to lead the organization into the future.”
